Depending on your operating system, Google may ask you where you want to install the program and how the installation should work. When it is finished, open it to begin the installation process. The file will now be downloaded to your computer. Click on the Accept & Download button to accept the terms and begin the installation process. Note the checkbox for the feature that will send Google anonymous reports about your activity unless you deselect it. Google will now ask you to agree to Earth’s privacy policy, and let you know you are downloading the latest version of Earth Pro. Note that Earth Pro is also compatible with Linux systems. However, you can troubleshoot the installation for Windows or Mac on this webpage if you need to. This should give you the right download for your operating system. Here, you should see an option to Download Earth Pro on Desktop. Scroll all the way down until you see the heading that says Create Maps with Advanced Tools. However, we’re focusing on Google Earth Pro, a more versatile and complete option that’s designed to be downloaded to your desktop. If you just want the basic Google Earth, this is the best option, because the in-browser version is speedy and readily accessible. You will immediately notice in the upper-right corner of the webpage an option to Launch Earth. Start by heading to the Google Earth website. Google has renovated the process for downloading Google Earth Pro and made it easier than ever.

Steve Gabriel with Wellspring Forest Farm in central New York released a four-part video series on YouTube that does a fantastic job showing how to create a map of a farming/ranching operation using Google Earth Pro. A high-speed internet connection is also very helpful to minimize the refresh time for aerial imagery. The Pro version only works on desktops or laptops running Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems. The third version, Google Earth Pro, is the full-feature version that is best for creating maps. These two versions are not designed for creating maps that require infrastructure to be added to them. There are two versions of Google Earth-one is web-based and the other is for mobile devices. There are three versions of Google Earth currently available, depending on the type of device being used and the features that are needed.
